About the Position

Responsibilities

  •  Attend to Metal and Engineering Bargaining Council (MEIBC) matters
  •  Preparing and submitting all MEIBC paperwork
  •  Handling all MEIBC communications and processes
  •  Assisting with the recruitment of hourly paid employees
  •  Providing new employees with induction training
  •  Conducting investigations (in instances of misconduct, grievances and disputes)
  •  Representing the employer during disputes and disciplinary hearings
  •  Compiling disciplinary action reports for the Operational Manager
  •  Taking minutes and distributing a typed version thereof of union meetings
  •  Communicating training schedules
  •  Leave (annual and sick) reconciliation for all waged employees
  •  Loading of new employees on the VIP system

Requirements

  • A completed tertiary qualification in either Human Resource Management or Industrial Relations
  • At least 3 years' experience at a manufacturing entity, that had a staff compliment of at least 100 employees
  • Prior experience with the MEIBC Main Agreement dealings
